How Companies Can Outsource Their Sales Efforts

It’s important to have a dedicated sales force, however all of your sales reps do not have to be internal hires. Three major benefits to outsourcing sales include:

Outsourcing sales allows you to start off with a qualified and experienced sales staff without having to hire or train them.
It gives you access to talent you might not be able to attract otherwise. This is especially true if you are a small business; a star salesperson would attract more competitive job offers.

The outsourced sales team will also have the ability to support and train your management team, helping you develop internal sales competencies.

Is There any Risk Associated with Outsourcing IT?

As more IT leaders rely on outsourced application development, operational resources, and more, the importance of governing and securing privileged access has grown dramatically, especially in light of recent massive data breaches.

Protecting against the leading attack vector — compromised credentials — is an important consideration when outsourcing IT functionality. Traditional privileged identity management solutions require organizations to create and manage identities for outsourced IT providers within an internal environment, and then grant VPN access.

Outsourcing small business trends for 2017

One of the most significant trends in 2017 will be outsourcing and remote workers.

This makes sense, given that almost all U.S. businesses have less than 20 employees. Hiring a full-time marketing person, bookkeeper or HR person may not make economic sense when those dollars can be directed to other strategic initiatives.

An article from CIO magazine in late 2015 suggested 10 outsourcing trends to watch in 2016. Some of these trends continue in 2016 such as IT security. That trend was discussed in last week’s column.

As the world continues to venture into a virtual reality, I’m finding myself getting more and more old school about this one thing: I am a big believer in having all of our team members at Vanderbloemen be full-time employees and work in our central office. But that doesn’t mean that having all work done by full-time employees is the only answer. We’re living in a time where you can effectively outsource certain types of work , and it’s certainly worth a look for any resourceful entrepreneur. (more…)

How To Outsource Digital Responsibility Successfully

I recently wrote about a new trend, the outsourcing of the CMO (see here), and received several follow-up emails regarding the general challenge of outsourcing—specifically, when does it make sense (and when it doesn’t). Few individuals have experience making outsourcing decisions by the time they hit the C-suite. And yet, the decision regarding whether and when to outsource can have a significant impact on cost and the quality of outcomes. This becomes more challenging when considering outsourcing specialized skills such as digital responsibility.

According to Gartner, up to 50% of digital marketing activities are now being outsourced, as both large and small companies seek support for their marketing functions. However, there are still marketing leaders who believe nothing should be outsourced to an agency. This likely occurs because of a lack of experience in knowing when and how to outsource.

To shed more light on this decision, I sought insight from David Rodnitzky, CEO of digital marketing agency 3Q Digital. What follows are Rodnitzky’s insights.
